All classes and workshops, besides stroller fit, take place at 30 Dupont St. East, Suite L1 (lower level as of July 1st 2014) in uptown Waterloo. We are located accross the hall from Dr.Stewart. There is plenty of parking in behind our building and you can use the entrance from the parking lot. Take the flight of stairs or elevator down and turn left through the door. We are on your right in the Belly Buttons classroom, you will see our sign on our door.
No, you do not need to bring anything with you to the first class. Some people like taking notes, so feel free to bring a notepad. We will ask you to bring a doll or a bear for the breastfeeding talk later on.
We require payment to Belly Buttons in advance of the class session date to secure your spot.

There is a $35 non-refundable administration fee applicable to all classes and workshops.

If your baby arrives before your scheduled class date you will be refunded the full amount less the $35 non refundable administration fee. Or you can choose to have a credit to use towards our post natal offerings. Otherwise there will be no refund for cancellations within one week of the scheduled class date.

If you need to change your scheduled course date, Belly Buttons will make every effort to switch you into an alternate class or offer you a private class for an extra fee TBD, payable immediately.

There is plenty of parking available in the visitor lot behind our building and you can use the entrance from the parking lot.
We will provide snacks on the first day and may have a sign up sheet for others to bring snacks to the following classes. If you are here for a weekend session you can either bring your lunch with you or prepare to leave for your 30 minute break.
Please dress comfortably. We will be moving around to practice comfort measures and positions for labour. Skirts and squatting are not compatible!
We only take 6-7 couples so it is a nice small class in which most people feel comfortable asking their questions and socializing on breaks.
We have a variety of clientele. We teach both midwifery clients, and the patients of family doctors and Obstetricians. We teach about home and hospital birth settings depending on the desires of each class. Our goal is to offer you all the information you need, in an unbiased manner, to make informed decisions regarding your health care.
Your instructors are Trish Unger, who is a certified Childbirth Educator with ICEA and owner of Belly Buttons since 2002 and Carolyn Reis who has undergone extensive training with Belly Buttons to deliver up to date and relevant information of the quality you deserve. Belly Buttons has worked hard to offer the best prenatal classes in Kitchener-Waterloo and we take our work very seriously – in a fun way! We think you will enjoy coming to class.
