Childbirth Preparation Class: Weekend Session @ Belly Buttons

Family-centred classes are offered for expectant parents desiring more knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum.
 The course is 9 hours in length and may be taken on either weeknights or on weekends. Your childbirth class series will be catered to your individual needs whether you have a midwife or an obstetrician and whether you are planning a home or hospital birth.

Topics include:

  • Labour and Birth: signs & stages of labour, positions, comfort measures, home and hospital birth details
  • Unexpected Outcomes: medical interventions and alternatives, back labour, and cesarean birth
  • Breastfeeding: positions, getting a good latch, common concerns
  • Postpartum Family: mom’s physical & emotional recovery, newborn care, and life with baby

Small class size and a casual & relaxed atmosphere make your learning experience more enjoyable. Meet other expectant families and increase your circle of support!

We use resistance bands and body weight exercises along with brisk walking or running to help tone your muscles and get you back into your pre-pregnancy jeans sooner.  Stroller Fit is a great way to carve out some valuable time for yourself without the need for a babysitter; baby will be happy to come along for the ride.  Meet other new moms while you do something positive for yourself. You will need a stroller (any type), towel or mat, and a water bottle.

All fitness levels are welcome… work at your own pace and meet the needs of your baby.

Stroller Fit continues year round and will move inside to the track at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex in the Fall and Winter. Please check Facebook for confirmation of location the morning you plan to join us.
